Harris Named November TOTM

Written by Riley Alewine

One of Coach Harris’ student’s says that he is deserving of Teacher of the Month because “He always pushes his students to achieve more than just a good grade. He always wants his students to accomplish more and to be the best they can be in life. He is caring and funny, but he gets the job done at the same time.”

Coach Harris says that he was chosen as Teacher of the Month because he forms bonds with his students and they are able to form relationships.

His favorite thing about teaching is that he gets to see students actually get satisfaction from “learning content.” He gets “satisfaction from seeing the light bulb flicker in a student’s mind.”

He says that one of his weaknesses as a teacher is that sometimes “[he] can lose track of time.”

Coach Harris says that one of his strengths as a teacher is that he is able “to understand each individual student.” He understands that students learn differently.

He went on to say that he isn’t yet a great teacher, and that he is still in his “embryo stage,” but gets the job done.

He became a teacher because he believes, as a society, there is a need to remain educated. “The United States is one of the most powerful countries in the world, but if we aren’t educated, we’ll crumble as a nation.”

Some of his hobbies are “reading, sports, and listening to music.” His favorite music artists are Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J Cole.

He’s hoping that teaching and learning is both fun and knowledgeable, he wants to keep students interested.

He says that he wants students to know that he is an approachable person. He’s easy to talk to.

Overall Coach Harris is deserving of teacher of the month because he is an amazing teacher and he does his job the way that all teachers should.
