Black History Month Program

On February 23, 2017, Lee County 9th Grade Campus held their second Black History Month Program.

The program was conducted by Coach Lawson along with many other teachers and students at the 9th Grade Campus. Anna Nichols, Damon Favors, Isis Brown, Nakhia Floyd, Caleb Floyd, Alexis Smith, Tyler Geter, Dyamond Davis, Jamie Hightower, Kennedi Walker, and the J.R.O.T.C are all students who took part in the program. Dr. Sybil Dione Rosado was the guest speaker at the event. Alexis Smith welcomed everyone to the program.

The pledge was led by Damon Favors, and Caleb Floyd gave an invocation. A poem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing”, was read by Isis Brown and Nakhia Floyd. Anna Nichols sang a song to the crowd and Dyamond Davis, Tyler Geter, Jamie Hightower, and Kennedi Walker did a phenomenal praise dance. Coach Lawson Introduced Dr. Sybil Dione Rosado who gave a very influential speech about black history. Alexis Smith closed the program along with Mrs. Lawrence.

This program will continue to inform students at the 9th Grade Campus about the importance of black history.
