The Lee County Cross Country teams have done it again. They had another great run at the Yellow Jacket XC Invitational with the boys team coming in 2nd and the girls in 1st.
The boys team was again lead by junior, Colby Jones, with a time of 17:21. Colby was also the overall winner of Saturdays race beating Colquitt County’s, Jake Merritt, by 5 seconds. The rest of the boys team came in pretty strong after Colby securing that 2nd place spot. Hunter Hatfield (4th), Ben Phillips (9th), Trevor Cleveland (24th), and Walker Pinson (28th) all had great races too.
The girls team was lead by senior, Ansley Cain, with a time of 22:08. She was then followed by Caroline Taylor (16th), Ramsay Miller (17th), Rachel Kiesau (20th), and Steffi Lee (53rd). Each and every girl on the team ran as good as they could and it definitely paid off. They were able to bring home the 1st place trophy.
This was the last regular race of the season. You can catch both teams at the region meet on October 27, 2016 in Coffee County. Both teams are expected to have strong races and good times at region. Again we congratulate our Lee County Cross Country teams on a great race Saturday.
