On October 1st, the Lee County Marching Band attended their first competition of the season. They went to the Super Bowl of Sound in Carrollton, Georgia. They performed their halftime show, Together, alongside many different high school marching bands. They were judged by professionals in the field of marching band.
The score system for marching band competitions consists of 5 for poor, 4 for fair, 3 for good, 2 for excellent, and 1 for superior.
The overall marching band was judged for visual and sound; they were also judged in the categories of Percussion, Color Guard, Danceline, and Drum Major.
The Percussion, Color Guard, Danceline, and Drum Major all received superior ratings. However, the band received an excellent rating for visual and sound, which bought the overall score down to a 2.
In the end, the Marching Band put on a great performance. However, they have got work to do in order to gain superior ratings at their future competitions.
