Different Generations of Disney

Written by Sara Kirkland

If you were born before 2005, then you are most likely familiar with  Kim Possible, That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, etc. Also, if you are anything like me, you were obsessed with these shows and maybe still are.
The real question is, where did they go? Why haven’t any recent shows made by Disney been as good as these?

The last truly great Disney Channel show I remember watching was Good Luck Charlie, and that series ended in 2014. Since then, nothing on Disney Channel has held my interest what so ever.

The shows made in between 2000-2010, are considered the “real Disney Channel”. These series of shows included episodes teaching good morals that actually meant something in the real world. For example, if you watched Hannah Montana you have seen episodes that taught you things such as not to lie, or not to cheat or bully. Even the almost silly episodes about Miley Stewart having a crush on a boy had something to do with what is actually happening in kids’ lives today. Now, most of what you see on Disney Channel has a confusing, pointless meaning.

Don’t get me wrong, Disney is still making some decent sitcoms, but you’re lying if you say you don’t miss some of the old shows. Maybe the old Disney will come back someday, but nothing will ever be as great as the “real Disney Channel”.
