Weezer “White Album” Review.

Written by: Mackenzie Rosa

2016 has been a very exciting year for the music world. Many different artists, from David Bowie to Kanye West, have dropped new albums. While Bowie’s Black Star and West’s Life of Pablo were both interesting and new, I’m very excited about one alternative rock album in particular. Weezer’s new album, White Album, was released on  April 10.

Since their debut studio album The Blue Album released in 1994, Weezer has been one of the most well known alternative rock bands alongside Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters and Cake.

Weezer hasn’t released an album since October 7, 2014, but they came back with a bang. Their new self- titled album, White Album, hit number 4 on the Billboard top 100 with just over 49,000 units. According to Billboard, they sold 40,000 albums. According to Billboard.com, It’s the eighth top 10 effort for the band, and their fourth self-titled album.”

This album is one of my favorites of this year. It definitely reminds me of their 2001 album, Green Album, another one of my favorites. All the tracks on this album have deep lyrical content that might take you a few listens through to hear. I have had this album on repeat for a few weeks now, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new album to listen to.
