Abby’s #WCW:Malala 1st paragraph

Malala Yousafzai is a Children’s Activist and a Women’s Rights Activist. She is extremely successful and her shocking story has impacted many people around the world. At a young age, Malala noticed a need for girls’ education. Her society was very discriminatory against females. Simple education was often denied for women, but males gained the privilege. She decided to take a stand.

Malala 2nd paragraph

Malala began giving speeches and writing blogs about the Taliban, a militant group that emphasized male dominance and discouraged female education. With Malala becoming more and more famous in the media, she began to receive awards, such as the International Children’s Peace Prize and Pakistan’s National Youth Peace Prize. With this newfound fame, the Taliban issued a death threat against Malala. At the age of fourteen, Malala was shot on the left side of the head. Two others girls were also injured in the 2012 attack. Shockingly, Malala survived, along with her hope to end inequality.

As if Malala did not have enough reasons to continue her fight for freedom, this attack created a fire inside her that still continues today. Although the Taliban still continues to target her, Malala remains confident in her search for the right to girls’ education. She has gone on to win the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of seventeen, being the youngest recipient of this prize. She still continues to fight for feminism and she strives for equality. Malala is a truly brave person and her courageousness should never be denied. Malala will forever remain my Woman Crush Wednesday.
