Varsity Boys Soccer Go .500 in Back-to-Back Region Games

Written By: Holt Bigelow

The boys came up big in their second region of the season against Valdosta with a 1-0 win. Sadly they dropped their next game at Colquitt to the tune of three to one.

The win against Valdosta was hard fought and well earned. The lone goal scored came off a beautiful Cole Redd half-volley into the bottom right corner in the first half, right where the keeper didn’t expect it. It was a dogfight from there on out, with scrappy play from both teams with quite a few fouls exchanged. But in the end the Trojans pulled out their first region win against a worthy opponent.

Sadly, a tough loss against Colquitt followed. The trojans fought hard, getting a PK goal from Cole Redd. But they couldn’t overcome some great keeper play by the opposing goalie and some quality shots on the behalf of Colquitt. Lee County’s next game is on March 8th at home versus Colquitt.
