Region Win For LCHS Varsity Girls Soccer

Written By: Mackenzie Rosa

Soccer season is at full swing and that means regions. On February 19, the girls varsity team traveled to Lowndes High for their first region game of the season.

The girls won 3-1 with goals by freshmen Sophie Tondera and Sheridan Lowry and senior Gracen Booker.

We asked Sophie Tondera how it made her feel to be a freshman on varsity, “It makes me feel good about myself. I was really nervous about tryouts.” Tondera also stated, “Last year I was on JV as an 8th grader so it’s basically the same and I also have older friends that I played with last year.”

The two freshman never played a region game before so we asked Tondera how it feels to do something that many would agree is very impressive, “I was injured the first three games so coming out and scoring during my first game back felt really good, especially since we have never beat Lowndes. Like Ever.”

Congrats lady trojans, keep up the good work.
