The night of September 18th, 2015 was middle school band night for lee county high school and middle school. Middle school band night is for middle schoolers to come see if they would like to join marching band and get the full marching band experience.

The middle school student seemed to be having a great time. When asked the two middle school student had very different opinions on marching band and their performance.

First we interviewed middle school student Kamryn Herd

I: How do you feel about tonight’s performance?

H: “I think we did really good.”

I: How did it feel to be playing with the high school band for the first time?

H: ” It felt pretty good, i think we did a really great job.”

I: Do you plan to join band next year?

H: “I’m not sure yet, I’m thinking about it though.”

After interviewing Herd we turned our attention to another middle school student; Chris Kim, who felt differently about marching band.

I: Did you enjoy yourself tonight?

K:“It was okay.”

I: Do you plan to join marching band?

K: “No, I’m not very interested in it.”

As you can see students had a different take on all that was going on. After speaking to the middle school students we talked to people who were already apart of marching band and asked the how they felt.

One person we interviewed was Mitchell Rosa.

I: How did you feel about tonight’s performance?

R: “We did good. We’re really improving.”

I: How did it feel to be performing with middle school students?

R: “It was frustrating at times but all in all it was fun. It was really great to see people interested in marching band.”

Mr. Carter had the same opinion as Rosa when it came to students being interested in band.  He hopes to see them when they get into high school.
